Arun Sharma is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota, advised by Prof. Shashi Shekhar. His research interests span spatial data science, algorithms, uncertainty quantification, and machine learning, aiming to solve previously unsolvable societal problems related to biodiversity and climate change. He received his Master's in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo in 2018 under the guidance of Prof. Varun Chandola. During his Ph.D., he published his research at prestigious computer science conferences and mentored many graduate, undergraduate, and high school students. After graduation, Arun is looking forward to working in the areas of spatial data science and machine learning.
